Glass Stoppered Erlenmeyer Flask

Note: When heating an Erlenmeyer flask, place a wire gauze underneath to ensure uniform heat distribution. Direct heating with an open flame is prohibited. The large bottom surface of an Erlenmeyer flask means that direct flame heating will only warm localized areas, causing uneven thermal expansion of the glass and potential cracking or shattering. Before heating, make sure the outer wall of the Erlenmeyer flask is completely dry.
